Student Chapter Leadership
IMA
student chapters are communities dedicated to connecting accounting, finance,
and business students on college campuses. These chapters engage in various
activities including spreading the word about IMA on campus, sponsoring talks
and discussions with local business leaders, helping students make career
decisions, and providing community service. Every year, student chapters vie
for the Award of Excellence and Outstanding Student Chapter programs,
which recognize chapters for achieving distinction in their promotion of IMA’s
mission and vision and providing a broader range of activities and services to
their members.
Our local student chapters
currently total more than 100, with thriving groups around the globe. Through
these chapters – started by students or faculty advisors – students gain direct
access to IMA professional members in their area. They also learn how to be
leaders, how to work together as a team toward a common goal, and how to
negotiate conflict. Student chapters provide great training for what it’s going
to be like in the real world.
