Dr. Lerch and his team produce forecasts of economic activity and General Fund revenue to aid the legislature and governor in forecasting state revenues as the basis of the state budget. Steve has a Ph.D. in economics from Johns Hopkins University. He most recently held the position of Research Director at the Washington State Investment Board, and previously, he has worked as an economist and researcher on public finance and health care issues in government (U.S. Congress, Joint Committee on Taxation; Washington State Department of Revenue) and in the private sector (HCIA-Sachs/Solucient).
